Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who they said is accused of raping and killing a 1-month-old girl. Investigators said 37-year-old Juan Galindo was arrested in connection with the incident.
Galindo is facing charges of aggravated criminal sexual penetration and child abuse resulting in death, deputies said. Galindo was in court on Saturday. The judge raised Juan Galindo’s cash only bail. Mr. Galindo the allegations of the criminal complaint are extremely serious, extremely disturbing. Judge Daniel Ramcy told Galindo. Court records show his criminal history is in New Mexico and Texas.
Investigators said it remains unclear how the infant died, and it has taken them a long time to process the scene because evidence was all over the house. The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department said it is assisting in the investigation. The evidence doesn’t lie. The evidence is going to lead us down the path that we need to go to. We just need to be able to examine it, and analyze it for what it’s telling us.
