Juju Bhai poking his tongue again for preserving culture

It is certain to get pain when a small thorn prickles. But here is a man who likes to poke through his tongue just for the sake of preserving culture and tradition. His name is Juju Bhai Basha Shrestha. Whenever New Year is celebrated in Bikram Sambat, his name is taken. People are waiting for him this year too so that they can see the man poking his tongue. The practice is associated with the Jatra in Bhaktapur.

It is known as Bisket Jatra. Juju Bhai Basha Shrestha shares his experience of poking his tongue for the first time. Shrestha stated he was totally nervous for his family members did not allow him to poke his tongue. Most of his family members cried before he poked his tongue with the needle. Shrestha is continuing the practice for the ninth times as well. The practice of poking tongue with the needle is carried out by Juju Bhai just for the sake of preserving the tradition.
