The new legislation aims to reconcile the rights of the approximately two million domestic workers and their employers. Under its provisions, workers - including maids and drivers - are now entitled to the nine hours of free time for a day, a salary at the end of each month, sick leave, and one month of paid vacation every two years. In addition, employers are prohibited from asking workers to the tasks that could outside of the contract, or damage their health.
