Massive fire broke out at two shops in New Road Pokhara that reduced the property worth about Rs. five million to rubble on Thursday morning. The fire broke out at the DIP Foam Shop in New Road of Pokhara due to an electric short out, according to Kedar Rajaure, Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kaski.
Fire spread from the froth shop of Govinda Adhikari also wrecked shades of Shankar Raut’s paint shop, said Rajaure. Three parked motorbikes were also gutted in the blaze, he further informed. Adhikari who sustained burn injuries on his hand in the incident is undergoing treatment at the Padam Nursing Home in New Road. Local people, Nepal Police personnel, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force upheld by fire engines splashed the flame after an hour.
