Nepali people think Dukuti is a better way of investing money where you can be reach so easily without working hard. You trust on people for financial transaction without any legal agreement and further consequences. Four special studies have been conducted by Research Department of this bank in FY 2010/11. These include (1) "Real Estate Financing in Nepal: A Case Study of Katmandu Valley" (2) "Status of IC Circulation in Nepal" (3) "Parallel Markets of Foreign Currency in Nepal" and (4) "Financial Transaction of Saving and Credit Cooperative Institutions in Nepal.
"Moreover, a special study regarding situation of Dhukuti transactions in Nepal is in the process of being an illegal transaction but people are pursuing in day to day life. The central bank has asked the Finance Ministry to officially declare Dhukuti illegal as lots of people have become victims of the informal deposit scheme. Recently, a woman committed suicide inside a police station due to Dhukuti, making the central bank think over the informal deposit scheme that has spread in the valley hitting the formal banking channel. "Either the government has to regulate it or declare it illegal as it has become a chronic problem in society forcing people to even commit suicides," the central bank said.
